    Champlin's Historical Time Line

  • 1838: First land opened for white settlers after negotiation
    with the Chippewa and the Sioux.
  • 1844: First deed filed in Ramsey County.
  • 1852: Permanent settlement of Champlin begins.
  • 1855: Ferry service begins from Champlin to Anoka
  • 1859: First Town Board meeting and elections held.
  • 1946: Village of Champlin, incorporated and split off from
    balance of township.
  • 1971: Village of Champlin, Township of Champlin, merged
    into City of Champlin.
